M01 |
Two men in armour face each other in combat, he on the left thrusts with a lance, which his opponent grasps with his right hand whilst threatening with a dagger held in his left hand. Their visors are lifted. In the centre background a tall tree spreads its branches about them. This misericord is 13th century and was bequeathed to the Minster in 1958 and is said to be one of the original set removed from the stalls when the 15th century set was installed. Now in Minster Museum. |
